Two months until the end of the year. Where did the time go? How many of us are working on holiday gifts? How many of us are just trying to keep on top of things? HOw many of us are losing that battle? SurprisedWe've had a great year in here so far, can't wait to see what this month will produce?

the workshop is done and we are headed home.  I am going to take a few days to deal with administrivia and maybe veg a bit.  My goal is to write for an hour a day and hopefully have enough done to show a trusted friend mid Jan.  writing a book is...a bit scary.

2016 is shaping up to be a busy year.  I am going to have to stay focused in order to get everything done.  :)

grateful the the solstice is near.  The turning of the year brings a promise of new life and growth.

Cheers

Go Laura! Writing a book is a bit scary but also totally rewarding. :-)

I have just finished making, packing, and shipping 128.7 lbs of chocolates! We made 80 boxes of chocolates this year, and I just got back from the post office an hour or two ago. It took the postal clerks nearly an hour and a half to process all 70 packages! But it is done and out of the house now, and (once I scrub the kitchen) life can get back to normal.

Here's a pic of one tray of chocolates:

And now, back to weaving! My two projects for later today are (1) fix the warp tension on the jacquard loom and (2) assemble the large warping mill I purchased a month or so ago. Can't wait!

over the holiday weekend.  Finished off the warp of tote bag bodies and dressed that loom with a towel warp.  I now have that weaving just fine.  It is just so much fun having great projects on every loom.

This time around I also have all my end-feed shuttles weaving.  I have had troubles in the past getting the tension just right but now that I do, weaving with them is really sweet.  It is nice when things come togetherSmile

Laura, a new year coming soon, and the start of a new book...perfect timing!  Tien, I had trouble wrapping my brain around that number of POUNDS of candy making!  They look amazing!  Those lucky relatives and friends who they're sent to!   Theresasc, I'll be looking to see your totes before they're wrapped as gifts!  I warped up a super quick chunky alpaca/pima slub shawl for my mom in law, and it was off the loom in two days.  Still threading my overshot and just happy to take my time, and awaiting my Vavstuga linen order.....yeah!

Last week I had a sinus cold to contend with and the weather set us back a little from being in the bush. So, after feeling better in late week I finished up weaving and joining the two panels to my coverlet. A little more shrinkage in length than inticipated (30% versus 20 % for cotton), but still a functional piece.  With only shrunk 12 % which I attribute to sett and I did use a temple. My sample was hand washed and the final piece was machine washed on delicate with minimal agitation. It's going to be cleaned in the washer anyway, so might as well get it over with. ;)
