The month snuck up on me - where did June go. I am off on vacation this month - well two weeks of the month - so much of my weaverluness will be limited to watching what you do and playing with yarn. I am planning vivistes to several yarn shops along the way! Weave on all. . . .

Tien, what an adventure lies ahead of you! Where exactly will you be? There are several Russian tapestry weavers in particular whom I so wish I could meet in person. Will you keep a blog of the day-to-day activities and discoveries?

BTW, my Nashville studio will be more than happy to receive any surplus of fine/superfine yarns that you are ready to discard. :)

Thanks everyone. Tien! Teaching in Russia, how exciting is that? Wow!

i'm working on my needlepoint which seems to be my perfect speed right now. The yarn is silk and cashmere, yummy to run my fingers through.

will be able to return to floor loom weaving when I'm allowed to drive, in about two weeks, I'll probably give tapestry that long as well. Can't wait!

Thanks, I'm liking it! This morning Ed took me to the needlepoint shop and I got new colors for it, that was really fun. Then I came home and took a very, very, long nap :) no more outings this week, just stitching !

congrats on the invitation to go to Russia - how fun is that!

And kudos on cleaning out your studio - I keep telling myself that I need to clean up my yarn closet - most of that stuff is knitting yarn but who knows what I will fnd. Most of my weaving stuff is fairly well organized - at least the yarn is!

Love the swooshing sounds as they zoom by...?  Well, not quite - I've actually been 'good' today and starting working on the necessary text for an upcoming deadline (Aug. 4)  Plus I've woven once so far today (1.3 towels) and as a reward am going to go weave another 45 minute session.  Then I have to re-read the text, re-size the photos and deal with Wordpress.  Maybe the dealing with Wordpress will happen tomorrow...

cheers,

Laura

Good advice Tina!

Erica, your pillow is gorgeous! The patterning is interesting and works together and the colors are luscious. I like:)

stitching the needlepoint again today, very soothing, love my new colors:)

Sara, I'll be in Cheboksary mostly, but will be spending several days exploring textiles in Moscow after the conference. And of course I will be blogging!

I'll be in touch after I finish cleaning out my studio...hopefully today, maybe tomorrow. My mom arrives in town tonight and I have to scrub down the rest of the house first!
