Happy Monday, everyone! Today I began warping a shadow weave baby blanket pattern by Barbara Elkins. It's two colors, held together to warp, which I get, but then I'm also seeing that I need to "follow the threading for the treading". So since it is threaded one light, one dark, I'm going to have to weave every shot in alternating colors, dark and light. Would I start one color from the right, beat, change sheds and start color two from the right also? Then I'd have both colors on the left. As long as I'm consistent with wrapping the shuttles around each other this will work, right? Am I missing something? I LOVE "daily weaverliness" and even though I don't post daily, I read all yours!

hello!

i'm hoping to wind the warp for this pattern tonight

could you spell out the aha! moment that helped you decide how to organize the two shuttles?

So, when you throw the first shuttle, place it on the breast beam. Then throw the second shuttle, from the same side, and place this shuttle beyond the first. When you pick up the first shuttle, this should cause the threads at the selvedge to interlace. Keep an eye on this process and it will soon feel comfortable. Sometimes, depending upon the pattern, the threads don’t interlace and so change your orientation so that they do. The only problem with my shadow weave blanket warp was that I made an error throwing the shuttle that I didn’t find until I was all done.  Have fun!
