to celebrate Spinning & Weaving week, of course! We'll have 5 looms prepared for 25 new (potential) weavers at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, on the New Jersey side.

I was about to run out of warp, so tied a new one to the old.

Then, I wove a few inches to spread the warp and test the threading. Selecting wefts will be fun!

Sally. I am usually not attracted to pastels but these have just enough depth to catch my eye. You have lots of choices for weft colors!

I am new and am perusing to see where I belong.  Wish I could help with Halloweave, but I will not get my loom until October 28.  I met a wonderful Lady from Minnesota whose mother passed recently and she is giving me her mother’s Macomber 48”, 16 shaft, 18 treadle Loom.  I will be meeting her in Michigan to pick it up.  Any advice about transporting this loom would be helpful.  I’m sure I will be needing lots of help from this group.  I told her that I feel blessed to receive such a beautiful gift and can’t wait to put my hands where her mother‘s loving hands touched.  I‘m not usually sappy, but this really means a lot to me and to her!

The loom sound wonderful. What a great acquisition for you. Please share when you get her home!

I have been busy spinning. I am involved in a combo spin / KAL, although I may weave and not knit my finished project.

I did get a bit more than a half of a potholder woven the other afternoon! LOL

If a treadling pattern is: 1+2; 2+3; 3+4; 4+1; repeat, then you would return to the beginning and repeat all four treadlings.

If the threading was a point twill: 1; 2; 3; 4; 3; 2; repeat, you would start the next sequence at 1.

You don't say what pattern you are referencing, but in some sources, the authors may shorten a draft significantly by abbreviating the repeating passages.

You may need to repeat a threading within brackets, then repeat a larger sequence of the threading that contains that bracketed sequence.

If this is what you are referring to, you would need to share the draft if you seek further help.

Who is going to Cusco, Peru for Tinkuy: The Gathering of the Textile Artists? I am and can't wait. It would be fun for me to connect with some of you there. I can only be there Friday and Saturday.

Sound like a wonderful trip. We need a jealousy button on here!

I have been testing out Christmas Tree ideas, in preparation for a January guild workshop I will be co-presenting on twice woven rugs.

these are so cute. Not too early if you are making things for Christmas.

After 3 (or more) years of drifting, I've finally come back to what I love! I've completed one project--a bit rough--but it really looked good after washing, and the person it went to was very happy. Today I have gotten back to Weavolution and I've been looking at a few snowflake drafts.
