I would like to start a discussion for android users. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tablet. I was watching the comments to see if anyone else is using the app on other devices beside Ipad and Ipod. Will it work on others?

I have it on my Droid 1. I'm running Froyo, haven't upgraded to Honeycomb yet. It's a bit slow on pasting the WIF in, but that's due to the old phone more than anything else I think.

I too have a Samsung Galaxy Tab, I just bought it so I'm not too familiar with it.  I only downloaded the demo version for Wif'n proof.  In the email with the link, it says to use safari to install Wif'n proof.   I'm using the default browser on my Tab.  As far as I know, there is no way to install a Safari browser on a Droid as of now. So far it works, although I'm not sure about importing WIF files or creating a draft yet.  I need to play with this a little more.

I spent last week end trying to copy a draft from handweaving.net. Never could get it to work, but I'm not familiar with all the apps one would need to do this. But with the new design area in WIFnProof I just reproduced it right in the program.

I am still playing with the demo version.  I'm having problems entering the threading.  It keeps freezing.  I can go back to other options, but I can't finish entering a threading.

Helen S

Without more information I cannot be sure, but I suspect that you initially entered less ends than the draft required.  If the red number at the center, bottom of the screen says "End" instead of a number, that is the cause.  You cannot enter more threads without increasing the numer of ends in the draft definition.

If not, please email me at [email protected] for more assistance.

I am compiling a list of Android devices that successfully run WIF 'n Proof.  And also those that don't.  I would like to hear from you whether or not you are happy with how WIF 'n Proof runs on your device.  Either post a comment here or email me at [email protected]  Let me know the manufacturer and model of your device as well as the Android version it runs.

Thanks for your help.

I just got a Kindle Fire and I understand that they're Android based. (Although I admit I have really no clue.)  I'm hoping to buy Wif 'n Proof, but so far haven't been able to link to it when I'm online on the Kindle.  I'm not giving up though!

Have you requested the demo?  Are you having trouble installing the demo or visiting the website?  WIFnProof.com is best viewed on a computer rather than a handheld device, and it does take a little time to load.  Please email me at support@sandozsoftware for help with whatever problem you are having.

WIF 'n Proof is awesome on the Kindle Fire.

I'm making progress!  I've just ordered the demo, and I'm going to see about downloading "Chrome" as the site advised for "Cloud" use.

I've been playing with the app on my Kindle Fire and every time I try to see the fabric it's completely black, so I'm pretty sure I need to choose my colors in a different way.  :)   My problem is I'm having too much fun to go and read the instructions.  Maybe if I could e-mail them to my laptop so I could print them, I might be more successful.   Since this is my first venture into weaving software, I'm really a newbie, but I'm excited to learn.

Hi Chris,

The best and fastest way to learn to use the Design Center would be to work through the Design Tutorial.  You can download just the tutorial at:

www.sandozsoftware.com/WnP/Files/Design.pdf

or download the entire manual which contains the Design Tutorial.  Downloading to your laptop so you can read while using your Fire is a great idea.

I am considering buying the Nexus 10 tablet will your software work on that version of the android?

Helen S

I have not personally tested the Nexus 10, so I cannot say for sure.  Perhaps one of the users here can respond.  The Nexus does not use the standard Android web browser, but instead offers only Google's Mobile Chrome.  Mobile Chrome does not as yet offer a full screen option, so the address bar and the status bar are always visible and may overlap some of the screen page.  Perhaps Google will listen to the many users who have requested this option.

WIF 'n Proof has had numerous updates over the past year and is very fast on iOS devices and on most Android devices, depending on manufacturer and operating system.  It also runs on Blackberry Playbook, the Kindle Fire, and the NookHD.  You can give it a try by visiting http://sandozsoftware.com/WnP/WnP_Try.html and requesting a demo app for your device.

I have a few questions.

I have a couple Android Devices; Moto X 2, Quadcore Snapdragon 801, OS  Uscellular 5.0.2, and an "American Pumpkins" 10.1" tablet, Quad Core Intel Atom, OS 4.4.4.

Does the software run on those OS/CPU combinations? Is it mulit-threaded?

Have you considered a Cloud Platform, ie. Google app for Chrome OS?

How about Linux on ARM? AKA Raspberry Pi.

(Yes I'm a geek).

Which combo would I need?

I know 2 Helen will answer soon too, there is a free demo on her website, which you czn try with your devices. Wif N Proofis so well done, it wpkrs on many more devices than listed. I recently tried the demo on my Chromebook!  Helen only lists the devices that have been adequately tested. Obvioulsy she can only own and personally test so many devices and customers are invited to use the demo to further test other devices.

Helen S

Hi Joel,

Just checking that you received the links to the demo and have been able to try WIF 'n Proof on your Android Devices.  Would love to know the results.

I have the chance to buy a Lenovo Tablet 4.1 x 7". Pixels 1024 x 600.  170 ppl.  IPS LCD.  Software Android 4.4.2 and Software Version A7-30F_20150128.  It currently only has 8gb on but I can increase this to around 38gb by purchasing a 32gb SD card.  Will the WIF'n'Proof software run on this.  I attach a link to the Lenovo TAB 2 A7 info. http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Lenovo-TAB-2-A7-30_id9034

I just want to be able to use it and place the tablet in a sling on the front of my 8 shaft Harris Loom (15") for when I am weaving at expos.

Helen S

I cannot tell for sure, however looking at the specs it should run fine.  Send me your email address at [email protected] and I will send you a link for a trial version.
