Welcome to our group.  We are weavers, basketmakers, dyers, spinners and other fiber creators living in the Las Cruces New Mexico and El Paso Texas area.  We are on summer hiatus but will resume our monthly meetings in September.  Stay tuned for more information.

Good afternoon Ms. Keeling, Could you please provide name of stores where an individual can buy supplies for hand weaving in Las Cruces. I can't fing a store here in El Paso that sells supplies for hand weaving or portable looms. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you Becky

Hi Becky,  Unfortunately, there aren't any weaving stores in Las Cruces or El Paso right now.  The Las Buena Vida alpaca farm-on Highway 28, www.labuenavidaalpacas.com, has spinning and some weaving fibers and the last time I was there they had some small frame looms as well as spinning spindles.  Mayaluna Yarns at Placita Santa Fe in El Paso, www.mayalunayarns.com , is a knitting shop but many of their yarns could be used for weaving depending upon the project you have in mind.  Do you have a loom and do you weave now?  Or are you hoping to learn?  There are a number of good resources for weavers, including beginners, around.  And some of our members are teachers as well.
