I'm trying to see the list, but when I download, all I am getting is computerese-not a list.  Any idea what may be going on?

While I am here, just wondered what the consensus is on this book:

Tapestry Weaving, A Comprehensive Study Guide by Nancy Harvey. I would like to buy a copy, but want to be sure it would suit a beginner.  All the reviews I've read seem positive!

The booklist is in an excel spreadsheet form when it downloads.  Don't know if that's a problem for you or not, Pamela.

The Nancy Harvey book has good beginning instructions, in my opinion.

I have a new MAC so I don't know about loading Excel.

Pam, After your comment about not being able to access the book list on the site, I contacted Mary Lane who is responsible for it. She said she'd include it as a pdf at the website, too. That way those who might not have Microsoft Office Suite could open it. Thanks for taking a look and finding a glitch! The intent, I'm sure, is that the list be available to everyone and not dependendant on one's software!! I just checked at the ATA site and the pdf is there now. Hope it works for you and let me know if there's still a problem. Tommye

Just got my Nancy Harvey book,  Tapestry Weaving, A Comprehensive Study Guide,  from Amazon and I am so pleased with it!  I'll be reading into the wee hours tonight just because it has, thus far, been an interesting read with great photos. I can just imagine how helpful it is going to be once my loom arrives!!  I am also pleased with the book itself. While I did go for a used copy, I must say this is the best kept "used book" I have ever seen!!! There is only one little ding in the back cover and some tiny scratches across the top of the jacket. The inside is mint-not a fold or mark on it! The postman, however, did fold it round to put in the mailbox, which, thankfully, I was able to retrieve before folding damage set in!!  

Now...I need my loom!!!

The Nancy Harvey book is a good place to start. My main advice is to weave every day! Even if you can only put in a few minutes and accomplish a miniscule amount the practice pays off. Only so much about tapestry (or any skill) can be done in one's head... the hands and eyes have equal roles to play along with the intellect when learning about tapestry. Think of it as Hands, Eyes, Head = Understanding! So... happy weaving every day to you! Tommye

Great advice and I will be sure to follow that advice as closely and as often as I can.  I have tried to get everything done today so that I can spend the weekend looking over the book/reading and getting my head around weaving. I know that I will complete the process once I get my hands on the new loom! Hopefully, it will arrive early next week!!!
