Bought a dissambled Glimakra 135 cm standard, vintage mid-eighties. Cleaned and up and running, but two curiosities:

1) the lamms have, besides the tie-up holes in their edges, a 3/8" hole in their faces. It is near the end of the short lamms and at about that same distance from the pivot end of the long lamms. Function?

2) This is truly idle curiosity, but I wondered why all the bolts, nuts etc were sized by SAE standards (fractional inches) rather than metric. Is this a Glimakra practice for US/British markets or has a previous owner redone all the hardware?

Thanks,

Maurice

Mine came with boards you could use to tie up the lamms.  You put the boards on either side of the lamms and slid the rod (like the one used on the jacks) to hold them steady and at the right height.
