When learning a new technique I give myself seven warps to unlearn the old muscle memory and adopt the new as my new default. If you find you get better results with one thing over another, go with what makes you happy. We do not (most of us) have to weave to clothe ourselves or our families, we weave because it brings us satisfaction. Maybe even joy. Wishing everyone a new year filled with the joy of working with fibres. Cheers Laura

... sixth full year of this daily madness adventure!  Next year's warp will be the same width (12") and tied onto the cut ends of this one.  I'll be posting a photo of 2014 to my blog later today after I cut it off.  I'm off for lunch now and then out come the scissors!

It's after lunch and here's a link to a quick blog post with photo of 2014:

Now... about that next warp....

Well said. I have one of your videos and an article or two on the same subject (finishing).

Thanks for the comments about the cloths everyone.

Have a good new years all.

Congrats, Tommye! I love seeing tapestry diaries - the idea of a woven "journal" really appeals to me. And six years in a row! Now that's consistency.

It looks like we are continuing to be an exciting bunch right the way through the year.

Beautiful weaving by Tien and Laura's student! Theresa has a lovely new loom, you really know how to road trip btw! ReedGuy is really pushing the envelope, as always!

I managed a bit of light web development work and eeked in my promised 10 mknutes of weaving today. I'm hovering at 50% of TAJ'S cloth. I'm woefully behind on the warp prep and redressing , my drawloom, but we won't worry about that. I still have 4 days off!

Happy New Year! Here's to more actual photos from me in the new year!

I had some help yesterday in learning that Fibreworks does what I need, to write some more complicated drafts. I purchased a copy of the Silver version last night. :)

And have dreams big enough, they scare you a little! (That was one of the best pieces of advice I received last year about this time.)

Off to weave...er, unweave. I discovered a treadling error about 7" back last night. Oy! Does that mean I am now having 2x, or 3x, as much fun?

Maybe you should leave the unweaving for tomorrow?

Lots of happy weaving in 2015.  :)
