Choosing a loom and different types.

I will like to weave a bracelet with a kind of square's, checkered pattern or basic tartan pattern, have tried on a mapuche/frame loom which I was told wasn't suitable. Which simple loom can I use and where to find tutorials please.

P.S.  how can I add a sketch/pictures to show my project?
