I am hoping for advice on textile adventures while I travel in Ireland during Spring 2014. I will be on a fairly flexible schedule during April, and in May I will be staying in Donegal. I have a few places scoped out, including the Linen Museum outside Belfast, but I would love to hvae other ideas and advice. I have heard there is a wool place near Galway? I am mostly a weaver, but I am interested in textiles, and especially historic textiles, of any sort. Thanks in advance. My countdown has begun!

I can't offer any advice on travel over there or visits to make. But, I would be very interested if someone was to find a linen mill over there and tell us about it with a photo or two. I have woven with some nice Irish linen, was a real pleasure to use. You know quality when you see it. :)

Hi Reedguy. YES! Definitely lots and lots of pictures. I am going without my husband so he is requiring many photos.

I expect I will be buying one of the lovely Aran sweaters, or maybe two. I will be staying right next to a sweater factory, so that won't be difficult at all. I am trying to figure out if I can make it to Wexford to see the Ros Tapestry too. (http://www.rostapestry.com/)
