I need to decide whether or not to accompany my husband on a trip to Durham and Leeds in England for the first ten days of September. I don't think that I have ever been to either of these cities. Suggestions? I do a little spinning and more dyes but focus on weaving. I have been weaving since 1967 and teach workshops, write articles, etc.

Hi Bonnie,

I live in the northern region of the UK (just moving from York to Sheffield).  I can reccommend a few good links to get you started on making some textile connections here.  In Durham and Bradford (near Leeds) there a two very dynamic guilds of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers who would welcome you to their meetings, or give you more suggestions of what to see and do in the area.  The Bradford guild meet at the Bradford Industrial Museum, which is worth a visit.   There is a lot of textile heritage in this region.  You will have a good time.
