I'm interested in the software that people use to write and manage their blogs. I'm creating this post as a place for people to share. What software works well for you? What doesn't? Let us know!

I just wrote a blog entry that's related to blogging, sort of. It's a review of an iPhone app called AutoStitch. This program takes multiple pictures and makes a panorama from them.

It's related to blogging because the "experts" say that putting a photo or two in every blog entry keeps people interested. When you're writing and managing your blog completely from a phone, the types of shots you can take get a little limited. This program helps broaden the horizons, so to speak.

You can read the review HERE

Great photo Blossom.

Re: photos - I try to include a photo in every post, although when I'm travelling that isn't possible.  Or maybe I could attach a photo via my Blackberry?  Time to experiment????

Cheers,

Laura

I don't know about Blackberry apps, but I'd be surprised if there isn't an app to let you blog from it.

Blogging from a mobile platform like the iPhone or Blackberry has totally changed the way I think about blogging. I'm not sure it's for the better, but I like it anyhow.

Be well!

I use MacJournal at home and Shozu on my iPhone. Shozu got me back on my blogging track! I have th eother apps that let me post to individual blogs one at a time, but I like Shozu best, because I can post entries that are appropriate for multiple blogs at the same time. It also allows me to post pics on my from my iPhone. It's worked really well so far. MacJournal allows me to do the same thing on my computer, which is better than from the phone.  WinJournal is the same software, but obviously for the Windows platform.

Is there a blog, what do you call it, platform? wher you can turn off the date?

I'm asking because I am a member of a small group of glass enthusiasts. We want a free and easy "web site", and I don't want to manage it all by myself. It would be nice and easy if we could have a blog where all of us could post - but, as the updates would probably be very infrequent, we'd like the publishing date not to show.  I have looked at Blogger and Wordpress, but can't see a way to suppress date. (And it has to be "easy handling", or I will end up being the one to manage all updates...)

Any tips?

Hi Kerstin,

As far as I know all Wordpress themes include the date, but it wouldn't be hard for me to edit whatever theme you choose to remove the date display.  If you want to set up on Wordpress and don't mind giving me admin rights briefly, I can go in and make the changes for you.  I'd prefer to do this before there is actual content so I know I won't be messing anything up.

Once it's set up, it should be really easy to use, so you wouldn't need to do anything afterwards.

Not sure about other platforms, though.

Hi Kerstin;  I use Blogger where one can turn off the date by following these steps:

Go to Dashboard, click on Layout setting option.

In Layout,  go to Blog Posts section and click on Edit option.

Edit opens a window called Configure Blog Posts.

In Configure Blog Posts, Post Page options can be turned on or off by ticking or unticking the relevant boxes.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, both Tien and Weaveblah!

I think I will go on with blogger, now that I know.... Er - in case you should be interested in the glass, here we have pictures of our current exhibition. Text is in Swe, but... all glass has been blown at my neighbour glassworks, founded 120 yrs ago. Should it then happen that you get interested in my village - click "startsidan", where you can access the pages with English text. Enjoy!
