Very sad news: San Jose State University (SJSU) is closing the Textile Arts program and auctioning off the entire Textile Arts lab. AFAIK, this was one of the last college Textile Arts programs in the Bay Area.

However, there are some tremendous deals on the equipment. All of the looms are starting at $250, and include a bench, 2 shuttles, and some bobbins. There are 15 looms total:

13 40" Macomber 4H/6T looms; several are "Add-A-Shaft" models

1 36" Leclerc 4H/6T loom

1 24" Gilmore 4H/6T loom

There are also a couple umbrella swifts ($50), vertical and horizontal warping mills ($50 ea), warping boards ($10 ea), some assorted small tools and a bit of fiber.

Additional information can be found on the auction website. You can also make arrangements to go to the SJSU campus and take a look at any of the looms by contacting Steve Carlson at (408) 924-4357 or emailing him at [email protected].

It turns out that 2 of the looms (auction #354528 and #354535) are listed incorrectly; they are not 4H/6T looms. They are 8H/10T looms.
