i will be traveling in scandinavia in august.  i am driving from copenhagen to stockholm then on to oslo and bergen before returning to copenhagen.  i am looking for weavers and yarn sources (hand dyed) to visit while i am there.  can anyone please direct me to a list  or make suggestions about how i can find open studios to visit?  i would really appreciate it.

i used to live in copenhagen (centuries ago) and  i have not had the opportunity to visit since then.  i am so looking forward to this trip.  i loved living there and think of those times often.

i greatly appreciate your help.

sincerely,

va weaver (virginia weaver)

Nice trip.  Bonnie Inouye traveled to Sweden in the Spring of this year and wrote about it in this thread.  There are several folks from the area on Weavolution.  If you don't get many other responses, try posting in the Forums.  Everyone on Weavo sees the Forums and Group members see the comments in Groups.

My apologies. I didn't realize that the post was done in Weaving Trip[s group. If you click on the word Groups in the orange toolbox, you will find over 200 different groups created by various members. If you search on trips or weaving trips it will show up. You join a group by clicking on Join on the left side of the page. Another choice is to click on the word Forums in the orange toolbox, you will find the main 7 forums that everyone can see posts from. Why not post your note in the Chat forum. Forums are seen by all 8200+ members of Weavolution. Groups are seen by those who have started them or joined them. I hope this helps explain how comments appear in Weavo. Claudia

Hi Vaweaver,

I am so sorry for not having answered you. The trouble is I have tried hard to come up with any ideas in my area (Copenhagen) of the sort you ask about, and have not had any success yet! I know there is a craft market - open air - in the middle weekend in August. I think many quilds are still on holiday, I know there is a bad lack of interesting yarn shops around here...And I would invite you for a visit if I could be sure I was available at the time, which I am afraid I can't. (health issues)

But if I run into anything that might interest you, I'll keep you in mind, and you are always welcome to PM or mail me.

I do wish you a great trip and hope some Swedish and Norwegian people will be of more help to you!
