Karren,  one thing I forgot to ask in the class today was whether there was any preparation (soaking, cleaning, etc) that needed to be done for skeins of silk before dyeing.  Do they just go into the dyebath (at time 0 on the timeline), as dry skeins?

thanks,

Linda

I had some of my notes in the wrong place.  Soaking before dyeing, I see it now.  But no scouring for silk, right?

You got it.

Not that all silk is perfect for dyeing, but it is one of the least problematic fibers.  Honey colored tussah silk can be difficult to dye but if your silk is white  you should be ok.
