I bought it at the market, but I shouldn't have. It is marked as 70% pashmina, 30% silk, and cost 60 SEK (less than USD 10). A burn test shows that the main ingredient is not an animal fiber - and the price shows that someone involved in the making is not being paid enough.
It feels nice enough, and looks fun. A closer look shows that the warp is black and white, end-on-end. Apart from a few areas, it has double layers. The wefts are alternating red and teal, and after every 7th red pick there is an elastic shot, that goes between the layers. The elastic is only anchored at the few single-layer areas. There is no selvedge - it has a cut and hemmed single-layer stripe at the long sides.
