I just bought my used Baby Wolf and I'm ready to warp it up I think. Right now there are lots of heddles on each shaft and not evenly space. Should I space the heddles so there are the same amount on each side, then leave the extras pushed to the side when I weave? Or should I get in the habit of removing all extra heddles and only having the exact number I need on for a weaving project?

To remove or not depends.  Will you never need all of the heddles?  Will you always be warping a warp that is the full width of the loom?  Will any extra heddles prevent the warp from going onto the beam at the width required?  Extra heddles can be interspersed between heddles that are being used.  

Taking the heddles off and putting them on is a PITA.  If you don't actually need to remove them because they are interfering with the warp width, I'd leave them on.

The Baby Wolf has heddle clips (which are not in the middle of the loom but set to one side of middle).  These clips can be opened and the heddle bar taken out of the the clip so that heddles can move freely from one side of the loom to the other.  After threading the heddle bars can be put back into the clips.

Thank you, Laura. I evenly distributed them. I'm just doing a small sampler for now just to get a feel for my loom, then I'll be doing a few scarves. I don't think they'll get in the way. I'll leave them on.

Because the Schacht jack looms push up from the center, if you just push your heddles to the sides (unevenly), the shafts may become unbalanced and act up.  Just make sure that you push a (mostly) equal number to either side.  Too late and they are all on one side?  Tape a weight to the side that's too light and carry on!
