Members of the Fiber Guild of the Savannahs are in the midst of preparing for an April 2010 exhibition of their fiber work at S.P.A.C.E. - Savannah's Place for Arts, Culture and Education on 9 West Henry St. (between Bull & Whitaker).
Our guild will demonstrate how we create a variety of fiber artwork during the Opening Night Reception, Friday, April 9 between 4 & 7 pm with a modified Sheep to Shawl demonstration. Guild members will be creating handspun yarn from raw wool from the sheep shorn at Oatland Nature Center and then weaving it on a loom into a shawl. Refreshments will be served.
Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. Spinners & other members plan to demonstrate Wednesdays from 11am to 1pm during the month of April after the Reception (the 14th, 21st, and 28th of April).
