About me

I studied weaving at the University of Kansas where I earned a BFA in Design, concentration in textiles. Following graduation I moved to California weaving on contract for furniture stores and interior designers. Later, on hiatus from weaving, I worked for a publishing company designing and writing pattern instruction for knitwear, was extensively involved in quilting, home schooled my son, and volunteered as a Stephen minister in my church.
Currently, joyfully weaving again, I am a technical editor and designer for Handwoven magazine and own a business dedicated to designing and marketing textiles including handwovens, reconstructed clothing and dyed silk.
At Convergence 2012 I was awarded HGA's Award for Weaving for excellence in technical skills and creativity. My life-long passion for art and textiles has translated into a desire to help others discover their creative potential; I conducts workshops for guilds and conferences exploring the design process, color, and finishing techniques.
