About me

My love of fabric and textiles is what brought me to discover weaving. I studied fashion and costuming in Alberta and then moved back to my home province of Newfoundland where I took a textiles program that taught weaving. I have been exploring ever since. I still have so much to learn as I would still consider myself a novice-intermediate weaver. My passion has brought me to look outside my province and so I have just completed a 3 week Mexican textiles residency in Oaxaca for back-strap loom weaving, and I worked as a fiber assistant at the Peters Valley school of Craft. I am now studying my BFA at NSCAD in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I am super eager to learn!! Hoping to take Laura Fry's Master Weaver Program at some point in my life...

I am a teacher
I teach

I teach the basics to weaving at the Anna Templeton Centre every so often when space for the looms becomes available. This includes how to make a warp, dress the loom, and weave in plain, basket, and twill. Simple yet super fun =)
