Unsatisfying placemats

Yarn
Yarn: Cotton
Color:
Type: warp
Yarn: Cotton

Type: weft
Loom
Number of Shafts:
4
Number of Treadles:
6
Notes:

Made using Halycon Yarn's "color gamp kit" with 15 lovely colors of 3/2 pearl cotton. I find these placemats floppy and unsatisfying. They are kind of spongy and hard to use. So they have spent the last 13 years (OMG, 13!?) languishing in a cupboard. I don't remember where I got the pattern for these.

Unsatisfying is satisfying

Thank you so much for posting this.  I am a new weaver and I admire and try to emulate other weavers who I learn from on this site.  But your posting is a great instruction for a new weaver.  I learned a great deal from your complaints which I'll use to analyze my work.  I know from your critique that you are a skilled weaver.

Again.....Thank you.

If they were mine

If the placemats were mine, I'd "relabel" them hand towels and be very happy with them

Godot: thanks for the kind

Godot: thanks for the kind words. I'm not all that skilled. But I am picky!

SallyE: maybe I will do that. Beats the langushing, anyway.
