Hello, everyone.  Laverne has been so very helpful in guiding me to put together a loom for my son.  I will put together two of them and he and I can learn together when he comes to town in a couple of weeks.  Until then, I'll try to check in and see what's up with the group.  I weave on a Mighty Wolf, spin, knit, and quilt, so I really need to organize my times to focus on each area.  Easier said than done, but I am curious about all areas of fiber fun.

Hello, Mary Lou, and welcome!

I know just how you feel about organzing time. I sew, quilt, do Renaissance-era costuming, machine embroidery, and about 18 other things, and I always have about twenty-three projects on the burner!

I just finished an inkle band, and am about to take up my sticks again.

Hi all! I am new to weaving. I have been knitting for years and spinning since about 2000.

I have done a few small projects on a 16" Ashford rigid heddle loom. I really enjoy reading Weavezine and got curious about backstrap weaving when I saw Laverne's article (which is really EXCELLENT!). I went last Friday to our local home improvement store and bought several dowels and a piece of beveled molding. Today I cut them to what I hope is a good length and sanded the edges. Next week, actual backstrap weaving will begin!! Yay! :)
