Hello,
I have had requests for instructions for the older drawlooms made in the 70s and 80s. Often a weaver purchases used equipment and the instructions are gone. The oldest drawloom was a frame that had 10 pattern shafts and it could be attached to a Glimakra Standard loom. The instructions were never translated into English. I have finally updated these instructions and translated them.
I am now working on the instructions for the next drawloom, which was the 20 shaft drawbridge which could be used with a countermarch, horizontal or vertical. The original 10 shaft could only be used with dräll pulleys and a counterbalance tie-up. I am working on those as I have time and I hope to have those finished soon. I believe that there were different models of this drawloom, but they are basically very similar.
I am currently putting together a drawloom on the 39 inch Ideal loom. It will take up less space in the studio than the Standard I had before. And perhaps I will be taking this smaller drawloom out for demonstrating. I have done that before with the Standard loom and the shaft drawloom. I am setting this one up as a single unit and I already have the shaft and combination drawbridge on a Standard loom in the studio.
If anyone wants a copy of the instructions for the original 10 shaft drawloom, please reply to this message, but also contact me at: [email protected]. I will let you know when the 20 shaft instructions are available.
