When I bought my first loom, it came with 20 meters of rug warp, sett: 30-10 metric. Så I started weaving rag rugs and became so absorbed in the rug, that I just continued. When I got my glimåkra with 8 shafts and treadles, I immediately dressed it to its full potential: width 100 cm, 8 shafts and 8 treadles, sett: 40 -10. That was more daring than I realized at the time, but all went well - though it was hard work going from an ancient loom with direct tie-down to 8 shafts and countermarch. I wove a nice piece of yardage with wool from my brother's sheep as weft. (maybe next year's halloweave project will be sewing a jacket from it)
Since then I have never woven anything any denser than 60-10, and I think it is time to move on. Yesterday I went to town to buy some thin cotton yarn for my diffenrential shrinkage project, because I want to challenge myself to move on.
