Has anyone seen a good instruction set for making a nice board for tablet weaving? I am thinking something with blocks/beams at one end for cloth tensioning and cloth advancing. Also a peg/something at the far end to tie on. And what about a place for a spacer somewhere along way? I can almost envision it, but I am very in favor of "don't reinvent the wheel" so thought I would ask in here first.

Having just spent the weekend with Linda Hendrickson, who does and writes about extraordinary tablet weavings as well as simple, fun weaves for kids using tablets, I can highly recommend her site. Here is a link to her page which shows how to put together a simple loom for kids but you should look around her site and she may have more about looms suitable for longer warps.

Weaving By the River (not verified)

Many years ago my weaving consisted mostly of card weaving and being the busy mother that I was, I needed a way to weave with interruptions.  I had a very old metal Structo Loom with I took the frame (castle??) with the heddles off and used the base for card weaving.  The warp was wound on the front and back beam (?) so that weaving with the cards could be done in the space in the center.  I have even done card weaving using the reed which spread the warp out wider than normal card weaving. Years and years later I am amazed at what I resorted to just to be a weaver!!
