My name in the SCA is Ysabeau Ferch Gwalchafed and I currently live in the East Kingdom, but have also lived in Atlantia and Aethelmearc. My persona is a 14th century breton Baroness living as a hostage in Berwick. I've been a spinner since 1992, (thanks cheekyredhead!) and knitting since 1997, but just started seriously weaving about a year ago when I got my Ashford Knitters loom at a trunk show in my Richmond Va, spinning and weaving guild. I just joined Weavolution today and I am excited to learn what this group has been up to lately.

I am Jahanarabanu Vivana, or Erica Jones (co-owner of Weavolution).

I have been in the SCA since 1995. I have always been a weaver, but recently took up sp8nning again as well! :)

I have lived in Calontir and Drachenwald. I've been in Drachenwald since fall 2004. I am really delving into my research of medieval weave structures in Europe and the Middle East. As part of my research I'm beginning a taquete sample. I recently finished this purse made of my own handwoven damask.

Wow, that is lovely Erica! Those are water budgets (not sure what is the right spelling for those heraldically speaking), and Damask is not possible on a rigid heddle because you need multiple harnesses, right?

Thanks Yes they are! YeahIdon'the think damask on the ribid huddle is very viable.  You need at least 4 shafts for the ground weave, then a shaft or pattern rod for each pattern  block.
