i just acquired an old 1973 A 22 Harrisville. loom has been well used and I’m putting it back the way it was.  ordered new ribbons for front & back beams and for the life of me - I can’t get any of my staple guns to staple into the beam.  Maybe it’s too old and hard. I attempted to put texsolv on the beams but it won’t “catch”.  I know I stapled onto other Harrisvilles but not this one. Any suggestions?

Try using some small carpet tacks that you can hammer in. Be certain to get them all even or you will have a problem rolling on the finished cloth evenly.
