What are you working on?

So what's everyone working on?  I'm doing a deep dive into my stash, trying to use up as much of it as I can.  :)

I am making a braided twill tablecloth and napkins for a customer in Chicago.  I am making 6' wide cotton blankets on the Kebec, when it warms up enough to use that room (if it ever warms up).  Next up, some yardage for a jacket, in the same braided twill as the tablecloth (tying new warp to old).

Just finished a guild inspiration project about Arizona landscapes. Now I'm finishing off the warp to make a double cowl. Euroflax 14/2 linen.

I finished weaving these towels on Friday, into the washer/dryer and pressed on Sunday.  Now hemming them.  In the meantime, the next warp has gone into the loom.  :)

Laura, those towels are stunning! You are such an inspiration. I currently have several projects on the go. I'm weaving some trim for my husband on my damask loom. I'm putting on a cotton warp for an undergown, fo rmy re-enactment kit. The whole family is working on getting our son's next project on the loom.

TJ, our son, heard about Shave 'em to Save 'em on the Two Ewes Fiber Adventures podcast and asked if we could do that together. He is a self-described nature lover "so anything I can do to help save nautre, I'm gonna do it!" He picked Gulf Coast Native as one of our first breeds. He  picked out a hand dyed yarn in GCN and we're putting that the Ashford Table loom to weave up a scarf! He helped me weave the linen hem tape on my Ideal loom and quite likes using the treadles, so I'm going to hook up the treadles on the Ashford stand for him to use. We've got the wapr on the back beam and we're working on getting it threaded! I'm so looking forward to spending family time in the studio together!

I love this thread! I look forward to seeing more of what you all are doing!

Happy weaving! :)

Good morning! I'm really amped for my weekend plans. I have several projects on the go and I'm really excited to spend some quality time in my studio moving them all along!

I'm weaving along on the damask trim.

Spinning my S singles for the S/Z yarn for weaving samples.

Helping my son warp his Florida Gulf Coast Native scarf for Shave 'Em to Save 'Em, this will be his first stamp in his passport!

I got about an inch of my cotton under dress threaded today. including cutting all the yarns and getting them out of the reed it took me about a half hour. I'm interested to go back out for another session to see how much of that time was actually threading. My guess is about half, but we shall see.

Laura, I'm really interested whether you track your time or not. If you do what do you use to track your time?

Well, it is the end of May and I'm nearly finished another warp of towels.  One more warp after this one and then see if there is enough of the cotton flake to do another warp or perhaps it is time to move on to something else.  This warp is a pale grey/blue with a variegated yarn.  I think it's turning out nicely.  More subdued than some of the others in the series, but I'm happy with it.  :)

Stunning! I'm about 1.5 hours of threading away from having my cotton underdress warp all threaded! I should be all set up and ready to start weaving when school lets out for summer!!!

I'm quite looking forward to beginning the weaving.

I'm still working on the damask, but I also now have my cotton underdress fabric up and weaving. I wove an entire meter this week! <3

I finished the two tablecloths, napkins, and placemats, sent them off to Chicago.  Then she ordered more napkins and placemats!  I think I have enough warp left for the napkins, maybe placemats.  I had inteded to make towels of the excess warp, but oh well.  I'm starting a throw for a customer in Arizona, using an echo twill that has proven quite popular,  I'll try to post some pics.

I finished weaving just under 4 meters of damask trim! I worked about 45 minutes a day most days and it went really quickly! My son is off to a summer day camp next week I plan to spend a lot more time in my studio while he's at camp! I only have 3 more meters to weave on the plain weave cotton and 5 warps to plan and wind, mostly for teaching, but one is another damask trim warp. :)
