I just made a response to a post in Nadeau Looms and wished to emphasize a word in Italic. Turing Italic on worked just fine, but I was totally unable to turn it off. I see that it worked OK here, but I could not make it work in a reply.

I went back to my reponse in Nadeau and tried to un-italic the words after "far" and was unsuccessful.
I have been using personal computers since the 80s when they first came out and know most of the keystroke commands from Wordstar. Harumph. I see that Italicizing and un-italicizing worked as expected here, so I guess that it was merely a fluke that I was unable to turn off italizicizing before.

It is very strange, isn't it? I never had any problems with either bolding or italcizing before and I'm pretty sure I have not had any problems since. I tried again to fix my post in "Nadeau" and was again unsuccessful, so I've given up. I tried both the ctl-i and clicking on the I in the toolbar. No joy either way.

Very strange indeed! Would you mind if I try to edit it as an administrator? I don't know that I can, but I'm curious. It seems as though that particular post maybe got corrupted or encountered a heretofor unencountered bug.

I dont mind a bit. I was blathering on, said "I'm far too lazy blah blah and it never would turn back to plain text. I have no idea what happened, but I have tried again and again to fix it myself. And here is the really strange part. the I in the header is not activiated (blue) when I select that text, so I would have to say that Wevo believes the text is not italicized at all.
I forgot to tell you that I tried and while it told me the italics were off when I made the change, it never registered. It did work if I copied the message into Word, fixed it there, and copied it back. I cancelled out and left the message untouched.

Messages are actually in Html, and sometimes if the html codes get broken, the visual editor can't fix them. That sometimes happens if you paste part of a document from Word or from email. We are researching a fix.

Well, let's try it in a reply! Hmmm. It worked here.
Can you reproduce the issue? I'll also go post in Nadeau and try there.

Very strange. I used the ctrl-I to turn italics on & off. I also highlighted a word already typed and changed it.
Please let me know if you have the problem on any other posts.

Stranger and stranger.

Very odd.
That pretty much describes my life these days: very odd. :)
