Reading a Forum
Forums are where much of the communication between weavers takes place. Like the forums on other social networking sites, Weavolution's forums are long chains of related messages ("threads"). When a group is created, a forum for that group is also created for members' communications; group members have access to that forum as long as they are members of the group.
To access the forums, click on the Forums tab at the top of any page. This will take you to your Forums page: your group forums are listed below the Weavolution's forums (Weavolution News and Announcements, Weaving, Chat!, Weavolution Help, For Sale or Trade, Report a Bug, Sponsor a feature!, and Improving Weavolution).
Each forum listing includes the three most recently updated threads. In addition there are links to create a new thread or show all threads for this forum. You can click on the
![]()
button to mark these threads as read. The number of unread threads and unread posts is also displayed so you can easily see which forums have new activity.

To read one of the forums, click on Show All Threads. The threads are listed with the most recent at the top.

Click on the thread subject link; that topic will open and you’ll be positioned to the first unread post.

The posts within a thread are numbered and in chronological order. The links between the thread subject and the buttons direct you to the previous and next thread.
Posting to a Forum
You can reply to the thread with the button, the reply link at the end of the post, or by going to the text editor box at the bottom of the page. To reply to a particular post in the thread, use the reply link for that post. You can post a new thread to a forum from either the Forums tab or from the list of threads for a forum via the New Thread link.
The text editor has options common to most word processing programs. You set the text to be bold or italic
, add bulleted or numbered lists
, insert a hyperlink
, add a picture
, or check your spelling ![]()
. Some other things that are good to know:
·
Web page addresses and e-mail addresses turn into links automatically. Using the icon
allows you to include a link or email address that appears like a word (ex: Weavolution)
·
Lines and paragraphs break automatically (Enter begins a new paragraph).
·
A subject field is available for new threads
Type your message, then click on Preview to see how it looks before posting, or click on Save to post.
Once your post is saved, you'll notice a few things:
·
A delete link at the bottom of the post allows you to delete it (once it has been replied to, though, it cannot be deleted).
·
An edit link at the bottom of the post allows you to change it
